Coaches, assistants, parents, guests, volunteers and players are all subject to the SYB Code of Conduct.
All must recognize and understand that they have a responsibility to provide a positive environment for our youth program. The Code of Conduct is built on a foundation of honesty, trust, sportsmanship, respect and teamwork. All within the SYB community will conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner AT ALL TIMES.
No profanity, violence and/or insults/demeaning language is permitted at any SYB function at any time (before, during or after the game).
No blatant disregard for rules or umpires will be tolerated.
Accept and respect the umpires as authority during games. Not questioning or commenting on any decisions or calls of the officials.
Respect the coaches/managers and refrain from confronting them during or immediately following a game.
No use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco/vaping will be tolerated at any SYB function.
Harassment of any form (sex, race, color, religion, gender, origin, age, disability, orientation, marital status, military status, etc) will not be tolerated.
Verbal or physical conduct that shows hostility towards any individual will also be considered harassment.
Encourage my child to show respect to coaches, officials, teammates and opposing team.
Remember that youth Baseball is a game that is fun to play. The game is for the youth, not the adults. No one is being scouted for the Major Leagues at our games.
SYB has zero tolerance for violations and will hold individuals accountable for anyone who violates these standards. This can include, but not limited to, ejection from the immediate function where the incident occurred, suspension from SYB for a game or or indefinitely, permanent removal from the SYB organization and up to including criminal prosecution for serious offenses. League VPs and the SYB board will investigate incidents on a case by case basis for possible sanction, initial or additional action, and written advice. All incidents will be formally documented in the SYB Code of Conduct file.
